Equipment Condition

Renter acknowledges that the equipment is in good working condition and agrees to return it in the same condition, normal wear excepted.

Renter Responsibility

Renter assumes full responsibility for the equipment from pickup to return. Renter agrees to:

  • Use the equipment for its intended purpose only.
  • Operate the equipment safely and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and all applicable laws.
  • Secure the equipment from theft, damage, and loss.
  • Not sublet the equipment without written consent.

Damage, Loss, Theft

Renter is responsible for all incidentals. Lost, stolen, or destroyed equipment will be billed at full replacement market value. Repairable damage will be billed for parts, labor, and loss-of-use. Missing items will be billed at replacement cost. An itemized invoice is payable within 7 days.

  • Cameras (GH4, Sony)$400–$800 each
  • Drone (DJI Mini 3)$500–$900
  • Audio (mixers, mics, recorders)$100–$600/item
  • Instruments$200–$1,200/item
  • Speakers/lights/accessories$50–$400/item

Late Returns

Equipment must be returned by the agreed date and time. Late returns will be charged at the hourly rate, with a minimum charge of one extra day if more than 2 hours late.

Security Deposit

A security deposit is required and will be refunded within 7 business days if the equipment is returned in good condition and on time. Deductions may be made for repairs, replacement, or late fees.

Drone-specific terms

  • Commercial use requires an FAA Part 107 certificate and compliance with all applicable requirements.
  • Recreational use must comply with FAA recreational rules.
  • No flying over people, vehicles, or crowds where not permitted.
  • No flying in restricted airspace or near airports without authorization.
  • No flying while under the influence.
  • Renter is fully responsible for crash, fly-away, water, and impact damage.
  • A lost drone will be billed at full replacement value plus loss-of-use.
  • Renter is solely responsible for third-party injury or property damage and indemnifies Eight Entertainment.

Liability waiver

Assumption of Risk

Renter voluntarily assumes the inherent risks associated with use of the equipment, including electrical shock, equipment failure, tripping, property damage, injury, and death.

Release

To the fullest extent permitted by Texas law, Renter releases Eight Entertainment, its owners, employees, and agents from claims, except claims arising from gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Indemnification

Renter agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Eight Entertainment from claims arising from use or misuse of the equipment, breach of this Agreement, or injury or damage during the rental, including attorney's fees.

Insurance

Renter Coverage

Renter is strongly encouraged to carry general liability insurance, plus equipment insurance for commercial use and aviation insurance for drone use. Eight Entertainment may require proof of insurance for high-value items. Failure to provide proof of insurance may result in cancellation of the rental without refund.

Miscellaneous

Cancellation

  • 48 or more hours before the rental: full refund minus a 10% processing fee.
  • 24–48 hours before the rental: 50% refund.
  • Less than 24 hours before the rental: no refund.

Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Texas. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Travis County.

Entire Agreement

This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties.
